Purpose and Meaning

The Benefits of Purpose

The benefits of living a purpose-driven life are clear.  When you live your life with a sense of purpose you begin living positively and start seeking new opportunities.  You start experiencing everything that you feel will make a difference.  You hold your decision accountable as they anchor the choices you have.

Meaning & Wellbeing

Finding your purpose creates a sense of meaning in your life. Research into meaning has told us that when you live a life of meaning you experience increased health and wellbeing and a life that is significant and coherent.

Place

Finding a sense of meaning in life gives you a sense of place.  When you have found your purpose, it is easier to know where you belong.  You also gain an understanding of the environments and communities that you benefit from connecting with.

Choice

When you know your life purpose you are more easily able to exercise choice in each moment of your life.  You know better whether a situation or person really fits in your life because you know why you are here and what you want to do.

Sense of Self & Trust

Knowing your life purpose gives you a clearer sense of who you are.  It is as if you have distilled your life down to its essence by connecting with your purpose.  People who know their purpose report a surprising increase in synchronicity and serendipity in their lives.  With this comes a deepening sense of trust and faith in other people and the way our lives play out.  People with purpose and meaning consider themselves an integral part of the universe.

Decision Making

Knowing your purpose makes decisions easier.  You know what to pay attention to and what is less important.  You spend less time and energy caught up on the things that don’t really matter.  You allow things to happen rather than fighting against it or trying to control it.

Positive Impact

Knowing your purpose allows you to have a much greater impact on the world.  Your purpose allows you to have the most profound impact – but on if you actually live your purpose.  Find your purpose and help contribute to a better world.

Confidence

When you know your life purpose you are more confident.  You know that you are here for a reason and that your contribution makes a difference.  Be confident in the knowledge that we ALL have a purpose, whether we have found it yet or not.

Gratitude

When you live on purpose, you live a more abundant life.  You are consciously grateful for the events and experiences you have.  Robin wall Kimmerer shares that ‘gratitude is the thread that connects us in a deep relationship, simultaneously physical and spiritual, as our bodies are fed and spirits nourished by the sense of belonging, which is the most vital of foods.”

Relationships

All your relationships will be affected in a positive way.  You will seek our new relationships that align with your purpose and values, nurture the existing ones that help you live on purpose and build stronger and deeper connections with those around you.  You become more helpful to other people and become a role model for your family and friends.

So, if you are looking for more purpose and meaning, don’t put it off any longer.  Make it a priority, and you might soon find the peace and serenity that comes from leading a purpose-driven life.

We have mentoring sessions where together we can explore your purpose using the Purpose Map framework.  Reach out if you would like to be supported while you uncover your individual purpose.
